We love our volunteers!

Volunteering at the Shed is easy, but we are always looking for people who can commit to one or more mornings a week.

Volunteering days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings 8 – 12; plus of course, Sale Day.

If you’d like to help, you’re very welcome to come to the Shed on these days and we’ll show you the ropes!

Morning tea is supplied and is an important part of life at the Shed. It’s a time to sit down, chat, get to know one another and catch up on any Lion’s or Shed life.

We’re always looking for capable people in the furniture department, moving and arranging the furniture, assembling and disassembling, small repairs from time to time, delivery and collection; including driving the Lion’s truck.

Our bicycle department is home to some specialist skills, checking and repairing donated bicycles and ensuring they are safe and serviceable before they go on sale.

Our electrical department loves to check, test and tag all of the appliances donated prior to placing on the sales floor, and we’re always looking for help in there.

Also critical to our operation is the general help around the Shed; sorting the clothing, manchester, crafts, books, toys, kitchenware, bric-a-brac and other donations; as well as filling the shelves with the goodies donated and tidying up.

Outside the shed we have a team that vet and manage the incoming donations, including the disposal of unsaleable items and the redistribution to Good Sammy’s of donations that can’t be sold.

Become a Lion Member

Those with a desire to be involved in the running of the Club and Lions Shed may also be invited to join the Lions as a member and take on additional responsibilities to ensure the future sustainability of our operation. Contributing to the decisions and running of the club that runs the shed can be hugely rewarding. We are a club that prides itself on serving the community in an inclusive environment where everyone’s opinion is valid and consensus rules the day.

Our membership coordinator is Leonie Lentjes who will guide you through the steps and help you integrate into the club. So come on down and help out and ask about becoming a member.
